The Georgia FFA Foundation is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization that supports the agricultural education and FFA program in Georgia schools. The primary purpose of the foundation is to provide recognition for Georgia’s FFA members when they excel in career development events and award programs. Members are recognized for their outstanding accomplishments in all areas of agriculture: crop production, forestry, natural resources, horticulture, animal science, agricultural mechanics, agribusiness, agriscience and leadership. The foundation actually funds over 100 award programs for our students. We rely on corporate donations, individual contributions, and we also do a couple of fundraisers. We do a Titan Tire auction at the Sunbelt Expo, and we are very fortunate to have the support of Titan Goodyear Farm Tires. All the proceeds from the auctions benefit Georgia FFA. Because of the money raised, the foundation is able to provide a lot of opportunities for students to compete at the national level and represent our state. Students go and compete in team events and individual events. Foundation contributions are used to provide travel scholarships to national competition and national conferences, college scholarships, plaques and awards and general support for the program. The foundation’s next goal is to have an endowment. We’re very fortunate that we’ve had some endowed funds donated to the foundation in the last couple of years.
Georgia’s agricultural education program is one of the best in the nation.
There are over 34,000 FFA members in Georgia who are studying to become leaders in the agricultural industry. They are preparing for careers in the business, science and technology fields of agriculture. They are becoming educated consumers of agricultural products, and they are learning leadership skills that will have a positive impact on their lives no matter what career they choose.
Agriculture is Georgia’s largest industry, and there is a need for leadership and technical expertise in every segment of the agricultural industry. As the world population continues to grow, the agricultural industry will face the challenge of providing a safe and abundant food supply.
How You Can Help Us Help The FFA………Today the average age of the American farmer is 52 years old. Less than 3% of the U.S. working population is involved in the agricultural industry.
We need more young people to get involved in agriculture for the future of our country. FFA students work very hard and they dedicate a lot of time learn and to perform their task. In doing so they deserve to be recognized and rewarded for their hard work and their accomplishments. We are glad to be able to help support the FFA Foundation and its efforts to be involved with students in both Public Schools and also Private Schools. America has no future without farmers.
It is our desire to do all we can to help strengthen the future of agriculture in Georgia by encouraging young people to get involved and to stay involved in agriculture. Without food, we don’t eat. Young people need to see a bright future in agriculture. Therefore, every purchase made under this program will help to take part in an annual donation for the Georgia FFA. Each product sold on this site will help in contributing towards the FFA.
